On-Island Transportation
If you would like to rent a car there are several options on Nantucket, as well as, Uber, taxis, Cisco shuttle and NRTA The Wave shuttle. Transportation will be provided from the ceremony to the reception.
-
UBER & TAXI
Uber/Lyft is available on the island although can be hard to come by and have long wait times. We suggest calling in advance, or (if in Town) walking to one of the taxi stands.
Taxi Stands in Town:
Main Street Taxi Stand, Main St /South Water St & Washington St
Steamboat Wharf Taxi Stand, At the Steamship Authority
Hyline Taxi Stand, At Straight Wharf
If you’d like to schedule a pick-up, linked below is a complete list of the local taxi companies and their phone numbers.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The WAVE:
If you're staying further away from downtown, The WAVE (Nantucket's bus system) may be a convenient way to get downtown at a great price point ($2-3 depending on where you go). Note it’s cash only. Below is a link to the website that outlines schedules and routes. Click Here to download the app to get real time updates on shuttle locations.
Cisco Shuttle:
One of the Island’s biggest hot spot is Cisco Brewery, about 3 miles from downtown. It's Nantucket's local brewery, selling beer/wine/cocktails and food from local food trucks. It's a great spot with plenty of outdoor seating, dogs, and live music. A free shuttle leaves from downtown every 20-30 minutes. Catch the shuttle from the Nantucket Visitor Center at 25 Federal St.

RENTALS
While it’s not necessary to rent a car, the Island does have a number of car rental companies. One of the draws of the Island is that there are a few beaches where 4WD cars with oversand vehicle permits are allowed to drive right out on the sand. All the cars line up, cookout and enjoy the beautiful beaches that Nantucket is known for.
Most car rental companies will meet you at the ferry or the airport or provide free delivery to wherever you are staying.
